Abstract AbstractDynamik und zeitliche Ausdehnung sind zentrale Querschnittsphänomene in der Kommunikationswissenschaft und lassen sich auf nahezu alle Kontexte von Kommunikation beziehen. Diese Vielfalt trägt dazu bei, dass der Blick auf kommunikationswissenschaftliche Problemstellungen unter einer zeitlichen Perspektive schnell unübersichtlich wird. Es besteht kein Zweifel daran, dass ohne eine Berücksichtigung der innewohnenden Dynamik kaum ein Ansatz oder Modell bestehen kann. Und doch steht dieser einhelligen Auffassung eine nur begrenzte und wenig systematische Auseinandersetzung mit der Problematik gegenüber. An diesem Punkt möchte der Band ansetzen. Er versteht sich zum einen als eine Bestandsaufnahme der offenen Fragen und Probleme in der kommunikationswissenschaftlichen Auseinandersetzung mit dem Faktor Zeit. Zum anderen zeigen viele Beiträge auch eindrucksvoll das Potenzial einer dynamischen Modellierung und Untersuchung der Gegenstände der Rezeptions- und Wirkungsforschung.
