Welche Rolle spielen Genderkonstruktionen bei Grenzgänger_innen der deutschsprachigen Gegenwartsliteratur, welche bei weiblichen Reisenden und Autorinnen des 19. Jahrhunderts? Was verbindet die Oper des 18. Jahrhunderts mit den Kompositionen des zeitgenössischen Black Metal? In diesem Band werden zentrale Konzepte der Kulturwissenschaft wie »Konstruktion«, »Verkörperung« und »Performativität« mit Fragen der Gender Studies verknüpft. Die Beiträge nähern sich der Frage der Körperlichkeit von Genderperformanzen in literaturwissenschaftlicher sowie musikwissenschaftlicher Perspektive und thematisieren dabei unter anderem Migration, die Frage des unbestimmten Geschlechts, die Dekonstruktion der Frau/Mann-Dichotomie sowie das Geschlecht des kulturellen Gedächtnisses.
