Die Türkei sieht sich mit einem wachsenden Strom von Migranten konfrontiert, die das Land durchqueren, sich dauerhaft niederlassen wollen oder schlicht als Flüchtlinge vor Verfolgung aus ihren Heimatländern fliehen. Vor dem Hintergrund der Masseneinwanderung syrischer Staatsbürger seit 2011 und anderen komplexen, anhaltenden Einwanderungsproblemen seit den 1990er Jahren war die Verabschiedung eines „Gesetzes für Ausländer und Internationalen Schutz“ ein großer Fortschritt.In dieser Studie erläutert Prof. Dr. Nuray Eksi die Struktur des neuen Gesetzes, das eine weitreichende Neubestimmung des türkischen Ausländerrechts darstellt und den Herausforderungen des 21. Jahrhunderts begegnen soll.Die Grundprinzipien des Gesetzes und die institutionelle Struktur zu seiner Umsetzung werden mit denen älterer Gesetze verglichen sowie Verbesserungen und mögliche Mängel diskutiert.Prof. Dr. Nuray Eksi ist Dozentin an der rechtswissenschaftlichen Fakultät der Yeditepe Universität Istanbul. Neben zahlreichen Veröffentlichungen zum Staatsbürgerrecht und Ausländerrecht hat sie Werke zum Internationalen Handelsrecht, Internationaler Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit, Anerkennung und Durchsetzung ausländischen Rechts und Europäisches Internationales Privatrecht verfasst. Nuray Eksi arbeitet mit internationalen und nationalen Organisationen im Bereich der Migration zusammen. Sie spielte eine aktive Rolle bei der Abfassung des türkischen „Gesetzes für Ausländer und Internationalen Schutz“
