„Streitbare JuristInnen (Band 2)“ ist die Fortsetzung des Bandes „Streitbare Juristen. Eine andere Tradition“ aus dem Jahre 1988 und umfasst Porträts von bereits verstorbenen JuristInnen und Interviews mit ZeitzeugInnen. Thematisch liegt der Schwerpunkt auf Personen, die nach 1945 aktiv an gesellschaftspolitischen Debatten teilgenommen haben, insbesondere an Kontroversen seit „1968“, die zu Kristallisationspunkten der Rechtspolitik wurden und die für ein demokratisches und inklusives Rechts- bzw. Verfassungsverständnis eingetreten sind. Dabei kommt eine breite Vielfalt an Stimmen der Rechtskritik zu Wort, auch RepräsentantInnen kritischer Strömungen, die weniger bekannt oder fast vergessen sind. Die Auswahl der Porträtierten und der InterviewpartnerInnen erweitert den Querschnitt an streitbaren JuristInnen, die schon im ersten Band vorgestellt wurden, und damit auch die Formen, Praxen und Orte der Streitbarkeit. Ein Fokus liegt auf rechtspolitischen und zivilgesellschaftlichen Bewegungen der Bundesrepublik, auf KritikerInnen der Zeitgeschichte, die aktiv in rechtspolitische Kontroversen interveniert und die sich in wissenschaftlichen, rechtlichen und politischen Institutionen rechtspolitisch engagiert haben.
