Rez.: Das Buch, das 1. in seiner Art, enthält 2 Listen in einem: die immer weniger genutzten und vom Aussterben bedrohten deutschen Wörter (Rote Liste) und die bereits aus der deutschen Sprache verschwundenen Wörter (Schwarze Liste). Die Gründe für das Aussterben von Wörtern, so schreibt der Herausgeber, sind unterschiedlich und manchmal bedauerlich, aber sie dokumentieren letztendlich nur den Wandel der deutschen Sprache. So wird z.B. das Wort "Beischlaf" nicht mehr verwendet und durch "Geschlechtsverkehr" ersetzt. Begriffe aus der ehemaligen DDR sind gänzlich ausgestorben, andere durch Anglizismen ersetzt. Die Listen sind nicht vollständig. Die Nutzer des Buches werden ausdrücklich aufgefordert, sich bei Anregungen und Ergänzungen an den Verlag zu wenden.
