Mit dieser nun in 4. Auflage edierten Einführung stellt S. Majetschak "grundlegende Denkfiguren der philosophischen Ästhetik vor. Zunächst skizziert der Kasseler Philosophieprofessor Ansätze von Baumgarten, Kant und Hegel. Im 2. Teil geht es um wichtige ästhetisch-kunstphilosophische Positionen, die von der Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts an bis heute von Newman, Heidegger, Adorno, Wittgenstein u.a. entwickelt wurden und die den "Selbstverständlichkeitsverlusten" der Kunst in der Moderne Rechnung tragen." (U. Homann zur Erstausgabe, BA 2/08) Gegenüber der Vorauflage finden sich neue Abschnitte über die anthropologische Kunsttheorie von Arnold Gehlen und über sprachanalytische Ansätze zur Ästhetik, was 10 zusätzliche Druckseiten ergibt. Das Literaturverzeichnis wurde um eine Handvoll Nachweise aktualisiert. Der flüssig lesbare Text verzichtet auf antike Ideen und unterstreicht zurecht für das 20. Jahrhundert enge Wechselwirkungen zwischen Kunstpraxis und Theorie. Ein Austausch der Vorauflagen ist ratsam. Alternativ bleibt M.E.
