Die kleine Kulturgeschichte der Alltags-Unterwäsche von 1800 bis heute entstand im Zusammenhang mit der Textilsammlung des Altonaer Museums. Behandelt werden: die Unterwäsche von Kindern, Männern und Frauen, wollene Unterwäsche, Körpermodellierung durch Unterwäsche, Frauenhygiene. Schließlich berichten Zeitzeugen (geboren 1916 bis 2002) hautnah "aus dem Untergrund" (Vorwort). Anmerkungen, Glossar, Literaturverzeichnis. Der Band ist gut und reichhaltig illustriert; er reiht sich ein in die nicht so zahlreiche mode- und kulturgeschichtlich orientierte Literatur zur Unterwäsche: Zu nennen sind hier vor allem A. Junker: "Zur Geschichte der Unterwäsche" ab 1700 (BA 12/88) und C. Saint-Laurent: "Drunter" (ID 28/89), großartig illustriert und beginnend im Altertum; andere Bände behandeln allenfalls das 20. Jahrhundert oder die aktuelle Mode. Da diese Titel nicht mehr lieferbar sind, bietet dieser gelungene Band die Gelegenheit, das Thema wieder abzudecken. Der Bildband zur Kulturgeschichte der Unterwäsche "Dessous" von A. Folli (White Star, 2010; nicht angezeigt) lag allerdings zum Vergleich nicht vor. (2)
