Durante los siglos XVI y XVII los sueños asumieron un rol protagónico en la cultura occidental, dejando un vasto corpus de literatura dedicada al tema. En el contexto español y novohispano esa producción incluye manuales de oniromancia, tratados contra las supersticiones, relatos, profecías oníricas, reflexiones filosóficas y obras médicas, sin contar la relevancia que como tema tuvieron los sueños en la narrativa y la poesía áurea. Este libro indaga en las percepciones, actitudes y diferentes usos narrativos del sueño, con la intención de establecer un diálogo entre los condicionamientos culturales, el mundo de lo soñado y las narraciones ficcionales de los sueños.
