Girato interamente a Prato, in una vecchia fabbrica, ora smantellata, interpretato completamente da operaie e impiegate delle varie aziende tessili pratesi, racconta la lotta delle operaie per difendere il loro posto di lavoro, contro la sete di profitti dei padroni e anche contro i loro stessi mariti che le vogliono in casa a custodire i bambini. è un magnifico documento, non solo di archeologia industriale, ma è anche e soprattutto il ritratto di una nuova donna, moderna e antica al tempo stesso
