Note:
Izzet Yasar, 1951 in Istanbul/Türkei geboren, ist Lyriker, Drehbuchautor und Filmkritiker. Seit den Gezi-Protesten 2013 in der Türkei ist er starken Repressalien ausgesetzt. Die 1. Übersetzung seiner Gedichte ins Deutsche sind ebenfalls im Wunderhorn Verlag unter dem Titel "In meinen Mund ein Bumerang" in der Reihe "Poesie der Nachbarn" erschienen. Seine Gedichte in diesem Band sind langzeilig, surreal, frei aus dem Türkischen ins Deutsche übersetzt und nachgedichtet von der 1983 in Solingen geborenen und 2015 mit dem Wolfgang-Weyrauch-Förderpreis ausgezeichneten Lyrikerin Özlem Özgür Dündar. Diese Gedichte sind eine mutige Auseinandersetzung mit den Themen "Minderheiten", "Freiheiten" sowie den tabuisierten Themen wie "Sexualität" und die Freiheit des Geistes in einer islamisch geprägten Gesellschaft. Durch die freie Übersetzung variieren die übersetzten Gedichte in Länge und zum Teil auch im Sinn. Somit ist dieser Band nur für zweisprachige Leser in seiner vollen Bandbreite zugänglich.
