Abstract:
Tillage and N fertilization may affect corn–wheat–double‐crop soybean yields in rotation. Corn yield averaged ∼25% lower with no‐till than with conventional or reduced tillage. Corn response to knife N applications may partially ameliorate yield decline due to no‐till. Wheat and double‐crop soybean yields were marginally affected by tillage and N placement. Soil organic matter distribution was affected by tillage, but there was no net increase with no‐till.
