Abstract:
The conductive polymer electrodes are considered as the best fabrication in the production of rechargeable batteries. The idea underlying its use, as well as the process and foundation of cell fabrications based on various types of conducting polymer systems are discussed in this review. Various types of conductive polymer coating on anode current collector along with different routes to provide desirable coated layers are discussed in detail. This review shows that the modified copper current collector can be regarded as an effective protective layer against solid electrolyte interface (SEI) film, electrode particle cracking, cathode electrolyte formation (CEI), dendrite formation/lithium plating, electrolyte decomposition, etc. not only because of their productivity, availability, but also for their stability, cost‐efficiency, and helps to decrease the internal resistance as well.
