Kurzfassung: Spontaneous formation of lipid tubules from DODAEO 2 ‐biotin molecules occurs in aqueous solutions. The protein streptavidin binds to these tubes and self‐organizes into ordered helical arrays (right). The arrays of streptavidin molecules have further biotin binding sites exposed in the aqueous medium and thus accessible for further molecular recognition reactions. magnified image
