Abstract:
The unusual skeleton of BIPNOR , a bisphosphine with two chiral, non‐racemizable bridgehead phosphorus centers (right), makes it an intuitively attractive ligand for asymmetric catalysis. The two enantiomers of BIPNOR were synthesized and complexed to various metals. The efficiency of the resulting catalysts in asymmetric hydrogenation and alkylation was evaluated. magnified image
