Abstract:
The development of secret inks from antiquity to the present is described. The primary focus is on recipes from formerly classified CIA documents. Selected inks are subjected to field tests. Furthermore, secret inks made from household pro ducts are introduced. Finally, some recent results on secret communication are presented.
