Kurzfassung: Total laryngectomy followed by postoperative radiotherapy can produce long‐term cancer control and survival for patients with T4 larynx cancer. The selection of patients for nonsurgical initial treatment should be done carefully because of significant rates of functional impairment and locoregional failure.
