Abstract:
The cancer incidence profile of African‐born blacks is different from that of US‐born blacks and varies by countries (region) of origin. Compared with US‐born blacks, African‐born blacks have significantly higher proportional incidence ratios for infection‐related cancers (liver, stomach, and Kaposi sarcoma) and blood cancers (leukemia and non‐Hodgkin lymphoma), whereas they have lower proportional incidence ratios for smoking‐related cancers (lung, lip and oral cavity, larynx, and urinary bladder).
