Abstract:
What's new? Consumption of fish oil or related products containing marine omega‐3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (MO3PUFA) has long been associated with health benefits but effects on cancer survival remain unclear. Here the authors find tentative evidence that MO3PUFA supplementation in patients with stage III colon cancer is associated with better survival, but the benefit was restricted to tumors lacking mutations in the KRAS proto‐oncogene and arising from the microsatellite instability pathway, a finding with possible implications for improving patient care.
