Abstract:
What's new? Does race influence response to immunotherapy and overall survival? Most clinical trials have been conducted largely on Caucasian patients. In this study, however, the authors found that Asian patients with non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) had better outcomes following immunotherapy than did white patients. Clinical, pathological and genetic features of the two ethnic groups were then analyzed, to identify possible mechanisms underlying these differences. These results have important implications for further studies on racial disparities in relation to immunotherapy.
