Abstract: Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) is a physiological precursor of androgens and estrogens. Ovariectomized rats fed a high‐fat diet showed insulin resistance and impaired glucose‐induced insulin secretion. These effects were reversed by DHEA treatment, with improved insulin secretion and sensitivity.
