Abstract:
Asbestos‐exposure related genomic markers are proposed in lung cancer (LC) patients. Allelic imbalances in 2p16, 9q33.1 and 19p13 occur in LC normal pulmonary epithelium. Changes in 2p16, 9q33.1 and 19p13 in combination associate with asbestos in LC. The association of these genetic changes to asbestos exposure is dose‐dependent. The alterations form the basis for the development of a combinatorial molecular assay.
