Abstract:
Zusammenfassung. Die Gründung einer eigenständigen “Gesellschaft für Psychologie“ (GP) in der DDR 1962 erfolgte aus (wissenschafts)politischen Motiven. Das Verhältnis zwischen der DGPs und der GP hing im Wesentlichen von den jeweiligen politischen Beziehungen zwischen der BRD und der DDR ab. Vor dem Hintergrund der Hallstein-Doktrin gab es bis in die 1970er Jahre hinein auf offizieller Ebene keine Beziehungen zwischen beiden Fachgesellschaften. Die gegen Ende der 1980er Jahre erkennbaren Reformbeziehungen innerhalb der GP bildeten eine günstige Voraussetzung für die Verhandlungen zwischen DGPs und GP vor und nach dem Fall der Mauer. Nach der Wiedervereinigung unterstützte die DGPs maßgeblich die Sicherung bzw. Schaffung angemessener personeller, institutioneller und materieller Ressourcen der Psychologie in den neuen Bundesländern.
