Five ionosondes observed the intermediate descending layers simultaneously just after the solar eclipse maximum The descending trend of the intermediate layers is very similar to that of the F2‐layer peak heights Plasma flux and gravity waves associated with the solar eclipse are suggested to induce the intermediate descending layers
