Abstract:
A tetrabutylammonium decatungstate (TBADT)-photocatalyzed direct coupling of inert alkanes and quinoxalin-2(1 H )-ones with H 2 evolution was developed at room temperature. The present transformation achieved direct C(sp 3 )–H/C(sp 2 )–H coupling under noble metal-free, acid-free and oxidant-free conditions. With this method, a series of 3-alkylated quinoxalin-2(1 H )-ones bearing various functional groups were synthesized in good to excellent yields.
