Abstract:
I am delighted to have this opportunity of speaking to you about the informatieverzorgingsbeleid (literally, policy for information provision). After a few general remarks and a little bit of history, I would like to tell you something about the overall structure of information facilities in the Netherlands, with a particular emphasis on the political aspects of information. Using this as a starting point, I'd also like to say something about what has been achieved so far with an at least partly‐deliberate information supply policy. And to finish, I must tell you something about plans for a changed approach, and try to explain why that is and why I find it such a pity it is that it causes so much trouble in terms of lost time and personnel.
