Abstract:
We investigated the efficacy of narrow band imaging, magnifying chromoendoscopy, autofluorescence imaging and photodynamic diagnosis for surveillance colonoscopy or work‐up in patients with ulcerative colitis. Endoscopic differential diagnosis between sporadic neoplasia and colitis‐associated dysplasia or cancer, however, is still an important issue in practice. Optimization of surveillance colonoscopy, including development of novel methods, should be addressed in the near future.
