Abstract: An inclined stick with one end on the ground drops faster than a free falling object. The traditional form in which this experiment is often carried out has some problems. Its explanation, based on the model of the rigid body, lacks any causal relation. The use of computer simulations can lead to substantial improvements without relying on the model of the rigid body nor on any further mathematical concepts or pre-knowledge.
