Abstract:
Multiple studies have looked into the best methods for measuring, estimating and predicting audience and seat absorption. Especially noticeable are those from L. Beranek. With simulation software the question remains about what is the best way to build those sections geometrically, and what type of absorption coefficient is appropriate to use. We created a series of model variations to understand the differences between the proposed methods and their influence in predicted room acoustics results both statistical as well as through ray tracing.
