Abstract:
Wavelength tuning of inter-valence-band (IVB) laser oscillation in p-Ge is successfully carried out by incorporating a mechanically variable lamellar grating into the laser resonator. A wide tuning range (80-120 ?m), comparable to the whole spectral domain of IVB oscillation (shorter-wavelength domain), is achieved with fixed electric and magnetic fields at liquid helium temperatures. The best spectral purity of the oscillation lines reaches the limit of instrumental resolution (???0.5 ?m).
