Abstract:
YIG single crystals were grown from a high temperature solution by top-seeded solution growth. The domain structure of grown crystals was investigated under a polarizing microscope. Magnetic domain patterns in a plate parallel to (110) face revealed a set of parallel-oriented, zig-zag curved, long stripes. The period of zig-zag curves depended on the cooling rates at the magnetic transition temperature, i.e. the velocity of transformation.
