Abstract:
Pulse response of electroluminescent (EL) diode utilizing poly(3-alkylthiophene) mixed with fluorescent dye has been investigated. By mixing fluorescent dye with poly(3-alkylthiophene), the response time of EL emission became slow compared with that of undoped poly(3-alkylthiophene). The mechanism of the EL response in the fluorescent-dye-doped poly(3-alkylthiophene) is discussed in terms of hopping transport of electrons through 2-(4-biphenylyl)-5-(4-tert-butylphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole molecules.
