Abstract:
The behavior of the effective lifetimes of metastable particles is investigated by solving the diffusion equation taking the reflection phenomenon of the metastable particles at the boundaries into account. The analysis of the one-dimensional diffusion equation for the metastable particles proposed by us is extended to the diffusion in three-dimensional space. The variation of the spatiotemporal density distribution of the metastable particles in the cylindrical cavity, and the behavior of the effective lifetimes of the metastable particles are systematically reported.
