Abstract:
La3Si6N11:Ce was synthesized from the mixture of nitrides and oxides as raw materials at 1580 - 2000 ° under nitrogen atmosphere of 0.92 MPa. It was found that La3Si6N11:Ce emits yellow light at the excitation wavelength of 455 nm. When a small amount of oxygen was included in the raw materials, LaSi3N5:Ce tended to form more than La3Si6N11:Ce. Thermal quenching of the yellow emission of La3Si6N11:Ce was smaller than that of the conventional yellow phosphor, (Y,Gd)3Al5O12:Ce. It was clarified that La3Si6N11:Ce is suitable for a white LED constituting of a blue LED and a yellow phosphor.
