Abstract: MHET II 6 894 is a large administrative document dating from the Late Old Babylonian period. The text lists fields situated in the territory of Sippar-Amnānum, which were assigned to the soldiers of Sippar. At first sight, the text only enumerates surfaces, irrigation districts and persons. However, a thorough analysis of this list reveals a well organised mechanism, which sheds more light on the redistribution of land to soldiers in Late Old Babylonian Sippar-Amnānum.
