Abstract:
This is a herculean but ultimately flawed directory of computer-related resources, not including software listings. It includes 1700 journal listings, organized by subject, machine, and computer language; 200 computer center newsletters, with listings of the mainframes each university uses; 30 pages of bibliographic resources, computer dictionary lists, and indexing services; 73 pages on software review listings, mainly from journals; 64 pages on hardware reviews; 95 pages on computer-language resources; plus appendixes on Association for Computing Machinery Proceedings, university computer science libraries, the Library of Congress classification schema, and publishers' addresses. This work is a useful resource for one's library, providing a good start toward finding general computer resources, but it is oriented toward computer science, with only some coverage of instructional computing and very little on social science.
