Abstract:
KCu 3 S 2 can be synthesized by fusion reactions of copper with K 2 CO 3 and sulfur at temperatures between 780 and 850 °C. X-ray investigations on single crystals revealed its structure. The monoclinic unit cell contains four formula units, the space group is C2/m. KCu 3 S 2 crystallizes in a layer-type structure and is isotypic with CsAg 3 S 2 .
