Abstract:
Mycotoxins are toxic substances produced by some microscopic fungi such as Aspergillus, Fusarium and Penicillium sp. These species commonly contaminate foods and feeds. Therefore, the quick and accurate detection is very necessary. In this study, a six mycotoxins, concretely: aflatoxin B1, citrinin, deoxynivalenol, zearalenone, T2-toxin, and griseofulvin were detected by Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Time-of-flight Mass Spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS). In addition, sodium adducts were observed in all tested mycotoxins. All mycotoxins were ionizated by HCCA matrix. Our results showed that it is possible to detect selected mycotoxins by MALDI-TOF MS Microflex LT in linear positive ion mode.
