Abstract:
As zonas de dissecação marginais às chapadas do Planalto Central Goiano resultam da erosão diferencial e da litoestratigrafia de estruturas regionais deformadas da Faixa Brasília, a partir de superfícies pretéritas herdadas. O objetivo deste artigo foi verificar o relevo resultante da interação entre a erosão diferencial e os dobramentos da borda ocidental da Chapada do Alto Rio Maranhão em Niquelândia (GO), a partir dos mapeamentos geológicos, da determinação em campo da petrografia e orientação das camadas das rochas e de perfis topogeológicos. Os resultados mostram vales escavados entre rochas metacarbonáticas e metapelíticas, enquanto as serras são sustentadas por rochas metapsamíticas. Dolinas e afloramentos de rochas metacarbonáticas evidenciam a coparticipação da carstificação. A sequência lateral metacarbonatos-metapelitos-quartzitos alinha alternadamente serras e vales na direção preferencial E-W. A drenagem é assimétrica devido os tributários mais longos ocorrerem sobre os terrenos de metacarbonatos e metapelitos; enquanto que os tributários opostos, mais curtos, ocorrem sobre metapsamitos. Os vales paralelos à direção e perpendiculares ao mergulho das rochas, configuram-se como vales ortoclinais. As serras, sustentadas pelos quartzitos, com direção preferencial E-W e mergulhos superiores a 30°, configuram hogbacks. Alguns vales com interflúvios descrevendo parábolas, sustentadas por metapsamítos dobrados, formaram combes, pela erosão do centro da antiforma.
