Abstract:
The relative availability of Ca, Mg, K, P, Mn, Fe, Cu, Zn, Mo and B to corn was compared between two soils by ratios of the corn ear leaf composition and by ratios found for the extractable soil nutrients. The effect of added minor element sources on the ear leaf composition was studied in the field. Nutrient changes were statistically evaluated. Significant B — Ca, B — Mg, B — Mo and Zn — Mn relationships were found with the intensity dependent on the source. Minor element nutrients in the leaves were increased by adding soluble and moderately soluble sources when the available supply in the soil was low.
