Abstract:
The accelerated progress of industry, agriculture and households favoured the elevated nitrogen concentrations in the aquatic ecosystem, which
cause eutrophication. Nitrogen is removed from wastewater by biological denitrification. This review deals with denitrification, from the aspect of microorganisms, dissolved oxygen concentration, electron donors and acceptors.
