Tripier A qualification space for " cadres " In this article, the authors link the educational system (university and grandes écoles) and the productive system (industrial firms) and demons¬ trate how a " qualification space " is being constituted for the mana¬ gers. In terms of jobs contents this space associates individuals with low speed career and high speed career. This arrangement between adaptable managers and adapted managers could be explained by the educational system in charge of training students. At the same time, the industrial firms do not accept a mechanical link between title and job content. The way the job is denominated reveals the relationship between the firms and the " grandes écoles " in an over différenciation process.
