Abstract:
Objetivo: O estudo teve como objetivo comparar a efetividade do álcool a 70% e do quaternário de amônia, com e sem o uso de técnica de desinfecção de superfícies horizontais consagrada na prática de enfermagem. Método: Este estudo apresentou um delineamento analítico de intervenção experimental. O campo de estudo foi a sala de testes de um laboratório credenciado na Rede REBLAS/ANVISA. Resultados: As substâncias utilizadas como desinfetantes neste trabalho foram eficazes na redução do crescimento dos microrganismos estudados, contudo, o quaternário de amônia de quinta geração teve resultados muito significativos e muito além do esperado. Conclusão: É possível concluir que o quaternário de amônia de quinta geração é muito superior ao álcool à 70%, não havendo necessidade, durante sua utilização, da aplicação da técnica de desinfecção de superfícies horizontais consagrada na Enfermagem, constituindo-se em uma quebra de paradigma em face da efetividade desse produto.
