Kurzfassung:
Amyloidosis is a chronic disease, based on abnormal protein deposition in the extracellular space. The heart may also be affected, which leads to amyloid cardiomyopathy. We present the case of a 69-year-old patient initially admitted due to symptomatic sick sinus syndrome, who developed hemodynamically unstable ventricular tachycardia during further hospitalization. In the course of diagnostics before ICD implantation qualification, the echocardiographic image suggested a storage disease with heart involvement. As a result of the intensive hematological diagnostics, the diagnosis of cardiac amyloidosis in the course of multiple myeloma was confirmed, which is a rare combination. Arrhythmia was the primary reason for implementing diagnostics leading to this diagnosis.
