Angaben zur beteiligten Person Grutschnig-Kieser: Dr. Konstanze Grutschnig-Kieser studierte zunächst Bibliothekswissenschaften und arbeitete als Diplom-Bibliothekarin bevor sie an der Universität Mainz Buchwissenschaft, Kunstgeschichte und Geschichte studierte und dort 2004 promovierte. Sie veröffentlichte eine Reihe von Aufsätzen zu buchwissenschaftlichen und hymnologischen Themen.

In der Medizin und Pharmazie hat die religiöse Reformbewegung des Pietismus ebenso profunde Wirkungen hinterlassen wie in Gesellschaft, Literatur, Sprache und Musik. Was heute als „sanfte Medizin“, ganzheitlich reflektierte Verantwortungsethik, psychosomatische Heilungsansätze bezeichnet wird, hat man hier vorbereitet gesehen. In Frankfurt am Main, Wirkungsort Johann Christian Senckenbergs wie des jungen Goethe, hat die Historische Kommission zur Erforschung des Pietismus erstmals eine Tagung durchgeführt, die auf Grundhaltungen, Argumente und weitervermittelte frühneuzeitlich alchimistisch-sympathetische Traditionen bei ‚erweckten‘ Hof-, Land- oder Stadtärzten und bei Laienmedizinern fokussiert war. Senckenbergs unermesslicher Nachlass (medizinische wie persönliche Tagebücher) wird derzeit zur Erschließung transkribiert. Der Frankfurter Arzt und Stifter war prominent eingebunden in ein Netzwerk von zumeist radikalpietistischen Ärzten wie Dippel, Carl, Kämpf, Goethes Arzt Metz, die oft zugleich literarisch produktiv waren und alchimische Medikamente produzierten. Verbindungen reichten bis Nordamerika (Ephrata). Ärzte der Aufklärungsära nahmen Anregungen auf, psycho-physische Denktraditionen gingen zur Romantik weiter. Jenseits der bereits besser erforschten medizinischen Schule Halles entsteht ein erweitertes, differenzierteres Bild pietistischer Heilkunst. Die hier miterörterten Konnexe ins Feld der Literatur, Musik und Sprache werden exemplarisch vertieft durch Erträge einer Marbacher Kommissionstagung.
