Content:
The biography of the educated citizen, German national conservative, scientist and officer Dr. phil. habil. Hans Jüngst (1901-1944) pretty much covers the period of the "German Age of Extreme" (Hans-Ulrich Wehler). It is based on an impressive collection of sources from the legacy of Hans Jüngst in terms of mentality: private, war and field post letters, diaries, notes and documents from the entire first half of the 20th century. Through this inheritance, the end of the German Empire, the decline of the Weimar Republic, the reign of National Socialism and the Second World War could be understood from an everyday historical perspective in the present biographical study. Attached is a selection edition of field post letters from the correspondence between Hans Jüngst and his wife from 1940-1944.
