In Beyond Minorities Policy, the authors ask whether a specific minorities policy is necessary. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this specific policy compared to generic policy, and what are the consequences of its abolition or of a different interpretation? This yearbook is the successor to the Minorities Policy Past and provides information on recent policy developments in the field of minorities, migration and diversity. It consists of two parts. In the first theoretical part, the "sense and nonsense" of specific minorities policy is approached from different disciplines and put in a comparative perspective. Part two shows how minorities policy is put into practice. Based on the policy fields of labour, safety, health care, education, youth care and local government policy, the authors show how generic policy - or the transition to generic policy - is shaped and how this works out at the local level.
