Underwritten by the Estate of Francis Bacon and ten years in the making, this catalogue raisonné will be the definitive reference for the paintings of Francis Bacon. It supercedes the Rothenstein/Alley 1964 catalogue, which included only 37% of his work, and illustrated only 27 paintings in color. Three 400-page catalogue raisonné volumes are accompanied by two 192-page supporting volumes. The catalogue will contain over 900 illustrations. Only half of the known 584 works by Bacon are accessible or in circulation, and over 100 previously unpublished paintings are included here
