Note: "It is with great pleasure I am enabled to present the public with my third edition ... of the following exceedingly valuable sermons. ... I am enabled, by economy in printing, to present in these two volumes all that have been published by Mr. Burder, making thirteen sermons more than have been before printed by me. I have printed of the last 13 sermons, a few copies in a pamphlet at 25 cents, to supply those who have not seen them in the former editions. ... A particular attention has been paid in correcting this edition ... Three proof readers have been engaged in order to make this edition acceptable to the public, for its accuracy ... nearly 2000 copies have been sold by me, of the former editions."--Advertisement, v. 1, p. [4], signed: W.W. Woodward. - "The American printer formerly published the forgoing 52 sermons, in two volumes, and in two editions; -- as he was about putting his third edition to press, he thought, by economy, he could take in the following 13 valuable discourses, which have lately been received in America, and give the whole five volumes in two, instead of only four volumes, which the former editions contained. ... Several errors have been detected and corrected from the London editions. Sept. 1807. W.W. Woodward. A few of the following sermons are for sale separate, to supply those who have the former editions. Price 25 cents."--Advertisement, v. 2, p. [207]. - In another issue (not in Shaw & Shoemaker) the imprint reads: Philadelphia: Printed by and for William W. Woodward, no. 53, Second, the corner of Chesnut-Street. September, 1807. - Shaw & Shoemaker, 14616. - Vol. 1: 311, [1] p.; v. 2: 347, [1] p. Last page of each volume blank
