Morshedul Islam has participated in a film appreciation course organized by Bangladesh Film Institute & Archive. After that he started his first film "Agami" (Time Ahead), a short fiction in 1982 about the great War of Liberation of Bangladesh. "Agami" won the "Silver Peacock" award for best direction in 10th International Film Festival of India, New Delhi in 1985.
