Der in Karlsbad geborene Künstler machte seine Anfänge im Prag der Jahrhundertwende. Dort schuf er als Maler und Grafiker eine grotesk-märchenhafte, schaurige und teilweise auch schwülstig-erotische Poetik, welche die Werke einer ganzen Reihe von Zeitgenossen wie Alfred Kubin in Erinnerung ruft. Seit 1909 in Wien ansässig, entwickelte Teschner ein eigenes pantomimisches Figurentheater. Von meditativen Klängen des Polyphons untermalt, sollten sich die Figuren - ob zierliche Prinzessinnen oder schrullige Fabelwesen - lediglich durch ihre Bewegungen mitteilen. [www.theatermuseum.at]
